Sunset at Subic Bay

While in Subic Zambales recently, I made it a point to witness the sunset at Subic Bay. It starts from around 6pm and lasts for about 20 minutes. Standing on the sandy beach, with the mild sea breeze blowing to cool a hot day, we witnessed the fiery orange ball dip towards the mountain on the other side of the bay. Misty clouds flashed pink and orange above the black summit. 

The calm blue sea turned into a pattern of golden streaks with the boats bobbing gently to the wavelets washing upon the shore. Scarlet spread out across the sky like crimson blood smeared smoothly over a large canvas, as the golden sun sank slowly behind the epic landscape. You hear only the sounds of nature, an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

I am really glad I had the experience. Too bad I can only share it with you through photographs . Nevertheless, enjoy the sunset.

As we walked towards the Lighthouse, we noticed that a wedding solemnization ceremony was being held on its premises. They even had a pair of white doves in a cage to be freed at the end of the ceremony. In the twilight of the evening, with the lovely song "Panalangin" playing the in background, and the couple making their wedding vows, it was truly romantic beyond words. A scene straight out of romance novels, a lovely fairytale ending, living happily ever after.

I will never, ever forget this beautiful sunset and the memorable sights of Subic Bay as long as I live. A picture of beauty, joy and peace - What A Wonderful World - indeed.
