Twin Towers

Although I have been to Kuala Lumpur many times before, but it never occurred to me to visit the Petronas Twin Towers. I only always go shopping at the Suria KLCC, which is a shopping mall at the foot of the Twin Towers.

On one of my trips there late last year with a friend, we decided to visit the Twin Towers. We heard that the tours start from 9am and you needed to queue up for tickets, so we went there at around 8.30am. To our big surprised, there was already a very long queue of people there and the sign says all tickets have been given out for that day.

So the next day, we went to queue at 7am. When we got there, there were already people at the head of the queue, but we managed to join the queue. We waited over 2 hours before we got our tickets. RM10 per person if you only want to visit the skybridge on the 41st storey, and RM40 per person if you want to go to the top at 86th storey.

It was quite an exciting adventure. First we had to attend a 7-minute video briefing, then we were ushered into the elevators to travel up to the skybridge (Level 41). The skybridge connects the two towers and there are 2 levels, one for visitors and one for staff. Then it is up the elevators again to level 83 where we had to change from the express elevators to another set of lifts to the 86th level where the viewing gallery is.

What a view! When you look down, the vehicular traffic was like ants crawling along. A little scary looking down, but the view of KL from up there is quite breathtaking. On a clear day, you can see for miles and miles and miles. And if you choose to visit around dusk, you can actually view the sunset from there. It is really beautiful. But I do not wish to spoil your fun, so I will not show you more photos. Go see for yourself.

Remember you need to go really early to queue, but you can book a later time to visit. Should go up at least once.
